Creatify vs best-in-slot
Creatify turns a product URL into short-form video with an AI presenter. best-in-slot turns your website into finished Meta statics that land in your ad set. Nine differences, checked against Creatify's own docs and help centre.
How this was put together
We make best-in-slot, and best-in-slot is one of the options here — so read this the way you would read any comparison written by one of the sides. What we can do about that is show our working: every claim about Creatify is footnoted to the public page it came from — pricing, docs, help centre — all read on August 18, 2026, and quoted rather than characterised wherever the wording matters. Where we could not verify something, the page says so instead of guessing.
Creatify is a real product aimed at a different job, and there is a row below where it plainly beats us. If we have a detail wrong or stale — including if you work there — [email protected] and it gets fixed.
Creatify, in their words
“AI Ads that win. AI-generated video ads that actually convert — at the scale your business needs.”1
best-in-slot, in ours
“Ads in a click. Instagram on autopilot.”
Both of these start the same way — you paste a URL and something finished comes back — and then they part company completely on what “finished” means. Creatify returns a rendered video: a script, an AI presenter reading it, captions burned in, stock b-roll cut around it, music underneath. best-in-slot returns a still image in four Meta shapes plus the copy that goes in the ad's text fields.
That difference runs deeper than format. Creatify's script is voiceover — the words are inside the video. Across the whole documented URL-to-video surface there is no primary text, no headline and no description output, which are the fields a Meta ad actually needs alongside the creative. So the video arrives finished and the ad copy is still yours to write.
The second difference is what gets read. Creatify scrapes one product page into a “Link” object — title, description, images, reviews, an AI summary, suggested audiences — and their own supported-links article names Amazon, Shopify and App Store listings as the sweet spot. best-in-slot maps your whole site, reads the pages worth reading, and keeps a brand model that every later generation is conditioned on.
Where Creatify is unambiguously ahead is after generation. Quick edit for avatar, voice, music and captions; a multi-track timeline; and Ad Flow, a node-based pipeline where you change one hook and only the changed nodes re-render. Nothing in best-in-slot comes close to that, and nothing needs to — but if iterating on one ad is your process rather than generating the next one, that is the row to read.
The nine differences
Numbered markers link to the Creatify page each claim came from. Everything in the best-in-slot column is what the product does today — the same figures the pricing page and the FAQ are built from.
| The difference | Creatify | best-in-slot |
|---|---|---|
| What you have to typeIs a prompt or a brief required before you get anything?Much the same | One URL is genuinely enough — the docs say “Just submit a URL—our system will: Automatically scrape content (images, descriptions, etc.)”. Without a URL you can supply assets by hand, but the API then wants at least three images. Around that sits a large optional form: video length, aspect ratio, 75 languages, target platform, target audience, 50 script styles and 54 visual templates — all with defaults. The defaults are worth knowing: target platform is TikTok, target audience is “young adults”, and the script style falls back to DiscoveryWriter or, on the scripts endpoint, four random ones.4,5,6 | A link to your site, and nothing else — no prompt, no platform to choose, no audience to name. The audiences come out of your own pages and you pick one, or say “any”. Every default it does apply is one you can see and change on a review screen before anything is saved. |
| Both tools take you from a URL to something finished without writing a prompt. The difference is what happens if you accept every default: on Creatify that is a 15-second TikTok-shaped video aimed at young adults. | ||
| Website understandingDoes it read your site, and what does it keep from it? | It reads one product page into a stored Link object — title, description, image and video URLs, scraped customer reviews, an AI summary and suggested target audiences — at a cost of one credit per link. No brand colours, fonts or tone come from the scrape; those live separately in Brand Spaces. The docs treat the result as a draft to repair: add a logo, remove low-quality images, rewrite the description. Their supported-links article names Amazon, Shopify and App Store links, and notes that sites with firewalls may block the crawler.4,9,14 | It maps the site, picks up to fifty pages worth reading, and writes one business summary plus audience profiles and what each one needs. Colours and a one-line identity come from screenshots of your own pages. It is kept as your brand, not re-scraped per ad, and every generation afterwards is conditioned on it. |
| A listing-shaped scrape suits a listing-shaped business. If what you sell is explained across a homepage, a features page and a pricing table, one product page is not where the argument lives. | ||
| Concept, image and copyDoes one run produce an argument, a picture and the words? | A video script and a rendered video — hook, voiceover, burned-in captions, CTA and b-roll. The strategy layer is a menu: 50 named script styles (Benefits, Problem-Solution, Brand Story, 3 Reasons Why, Storytime, Gen Z) and around 30 named hooks. For static image ads the headline is rendered into the image. Across the whole documented URL-to-video and scripts API there is no primary text, headline or description output — the only copywriting claim is on the Performance Agent marketing page, with no mechanism described.5,6,16,17 | Three concepts a run — hook, big idea, visual direction — against an angle you choose from 117 in 10 families. Then the image in one of 66 styles. Then up to five primary texts, five headlines and a description, written from the image just drawn, ready to paste or publish into the ad's own fields. |
| Static or videoWhat shapes come out, and for which placements?Their edge | Video first, and broadly: 15, 30, 45 or 60-second URL-to-video, with plan ceilings of “Up to 2 minutes” on Starter and “Up to 10 minutes” on Pro; 16:9, 1:1 and 9:16; AI avatars with product and stock b-roll; product-image animation; a photo-to-talking-head tool; and an ad-clone path that rebuilds a reference ad with your product. Statics exist, and one image can be reformatted into twelve IAB banner sizes. Free-tier videos carry a watermark, are 9:16 only, and its credits expire every two months.2,5,7,13 | Still images. One hero image re-rendered into 1080×1080, 1080×1350, 1080×1920 and 1200×628 — the four shapes Meta serves — each rebuilt rather than cropped. No video, no animation, no avatars, no display banners. |
| This is the row that decides it. Short-form video with a presenter is a format we do not produce at all, and no amount of finishing statics well substitutes for it. | ||
| Editing controlWhat can you change after it has generated?Their edge | Three tiers, and they are real. Quick edit swaps avatar, voice, music, captions and aspect ratio. A full multi-track web editor handles timeline work — assets, cropping and trimming, captions, transitions, even word pronunciation. Ad Flow is a node-based pipeline where “only changed nodes re-render”, so you can swap one hook without rebuilding the ad. Revisions cost 3 credits per 15 seconds, and the free-revision perk on Pro applies only if you do not change the script, avatar or voice.10,11,12 | Describe a change to an image in a sentence and it re-renders for 3 credits, keeping the original. Generate as many takes in as many styles as you want. Copy is editable line by line before you finalise. There is no canvas, no timeline, no node graph. |
| Their own Ad Flow article makes the trade explicit: it is “not a 'click → generate ad' tool” but a pipeline you build step by step. That is the opposite end of the same axis we sit on. | ||
| Getting it into the ad accountDoes the finished ad reach Ads Manager, or a download folder?Different jobs | Documented in-product: after generating image ads you can download, save to Smart Assets, or “Launch Ad”, which prompts you to launch on your pages. Beyond that, the Performance Agent marketing pages claim one-click integration with Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, Snap, AppLovin and others, and an agent that builds targeting, sets budgets and launches campaigns — but no help-centre or API document describes those mechanics, and nothing we could find states whether a launched ad starts live or paused.2,15,16 | One ad, inside an ad set you already made, in your own Meta account — carrying all four shapes and every copy line as a single multi-asset creative, each shape routed to the placements it fits, paused by default with a link to review it in Ads Manager. It never creates campaigns or ad sets. Meta only. |
| Their claim is bigger than ours — budgets, targeting, several platforms — and it is the part of their product with the least public documentation. Ours is smaller and entirely checkable: one ad, one ad set, paused. | ||
| Brand controlsHow does it know your logo, colours and voice — and how many brands?Much the same | Brand Spaces hold primary and secondary logos, a colour palette, brand fonts and optional voice-and-style notes, and the help centre says branding is applied automatically across generated content — though whether that constrains generation or is applied afterwards is not stated. Their plan table lists one Brand Space for Starter and for Pro, with Enterprise custom; the Pro card separately offers up to five seats with one included, and Enterprise is defined as six or more seats or two or more Brand Spaces — so on their own published ladder, a second brand is a sales call rather than a setting.2,14 | Colours with roles, a one-line identity, the business summary, audiences and products — every one of them editable and every one fed into generation as context. Your logo is handed to the image model as a reference to reproduce rather than pasted on as a layer. Brands are five on Growth and ten on Agency, self-serve, with the caps printed on the pricing page. |
| They capture fonts and we do not, which matters if your brand is typographic. We hand five or ten brand slots to anyone who wants them; on their published ladder a second brand space is an Enterprise conversation. | ||
| Pricing and limitsWhat does a month cost, and what does that buy in finished ads?Different jobs | Free is 10 credits a month — about two videos, watermarked, 9:16 only, expiring every two months. Starter is $39 a month for 100 credits; Pro is $99 for 300, with a slider for more that prices client-side. Annual billing is advertised as a saving but the annual figures are not rendered on the page and their plans API needs authentication, so we do not quote one. Video costs 5 credits per 15 seconds in the platform and 5 per 30 seconds through the API — the same work at two rates — and revisions add 3 credits per 15 seconds. Statics are much cheaper than video — their free plan turns ten credits into “up to 2 video ads or 20 image ads” — though the per-image rate is not published in the help centre. Separate API plans run $99 for 500 credits and $299 for 2,000. Terms say payments are non-refundable and subscriptions auto-renew.2,3,8,12,13 | $19–$169 a month, one meter, no seats. A finished ad is 10 credits; concepts are 1, an image 3, the four sizes 6, copy 2 — all published. 50 free credits at signup, about 5 ads, no card, no watermark. Failed generations refund automatically. |
| At the same $39: Creatify's 100 credits buy roughly ten 30-second videos before revisions, and considerably more statics — their own free-plan maths puts image ads at a fraction of a video. best-in-slot's Starter plan buys 1,000 credits, about 100 finished ads, where "finished" means the four Meta shapes, the copy set and the publish. Different deliverables; compare per ad you would actually run. | ||
| Who it fitsWho is genuinely better off with this one?Different jobs | A DTC or ecommerce operator with real listings on Amazon, Shopify or the App Store who wants many short-form video angles a week and will edit what comes back. App and game marketers too — AppLovin sits alongside Meta and TikTok in their launcher. Their own plan copy says Starter is for creators and solopreneurs, Pro for marketers, business owners and teams.2,9,16 | Someone selling something whose story lives on their own website rather than a marketplace listing — services and software included — who runs Meta, wants finished statics with the copy attached, and wants them in the ad set rather than in a downloads folder. |
Our side of the table in full: every credit price, what happens in your Meta account, and the rules we wrote about comparison ads — which is why there is a row above where Creatify wins.
Stay with Creatify if…
You need video. Avatar-presented, captioned, b-rolled short-form video is Creatify's whole reason to exist, and best-in-slot does not make any. If the answer to “what should we test next” is a talking-head UGC ad, this comparison is over on the format row.
You iterate rather than regenerate. Their editing stack is the deepest here — quick edit for avatar, voice, music and captions; a multi-track timeline for real cutting; and Ad Flow, where changing one node re-renders only that node. Compared with our regenerate-and-pick loop, that is a different and better answer for anyone whose process is “this one is nearly right”.
You are selling a listing. If your product lives on Amazon, Shopify or the App Store, their scrape is aimed exactly at that page: images, description and customer reviews pulled straight into the ad. Ours reads a website, which is the right tool for a business and the wrong one for a marketplace listing.
Try best-in-slot if…
You need what Meta actually asks for. A Meta ad is an image or video plus primary text, a headline and a description — and across Creatify's documented URL-to-video surface those three fields are not produced. best-in-slot writes them from the image it just drew, then publishes them with it.
Your story is not on one product page. A service business, a SaaS, a studio, a clinic: the reason to buy is spread across a homepage, a features page and a pricing table, and one-page scraping starves on exactly that. Ours reads the site.
And you want the finished thing in the account, not the folder. One ad, in the ad set you picked, paused, with all four shapes routed to the placements they fit — at 10 credits a go on plans that run $19–$169.
What changes if you move across
The obvious change is that the ads stop moving. If your current mix is short-form video, moving it to statics is a media decision, not a tooling one — and for most accounts the honest answer is to run both: video from a video tool, statics from here.
Setup goes the other way round. Instead of one link per product, you paste your site once and it builds a brand — business summary, audiences, colours — that every ad afterwards uses. Products are added with your own photos, and those photos are handed to the image model as high-fidelity references, so the product in the ad is the product you sell.
You will need a Meta ad set to publish into, since best-in-slot deliberately never creates campaigns or ad sets. And there is no timeline, no node graph and no quick-edit panel here: if a take is wrong, you say what to change in a sentence and it re-renders, or you generate another and pick.
Creatify vs best-in-slot: common questions
Does Creatify write Meta ad copy — primary text and headlines?
Not in anything we could verify. Its URL-to-video output is a script — voiceover and burned-in captions — and neither the video API nor the scripts API returns primary text, headlines or a description. Copywriting is claimed on the Performance Agent marketing page without a documented mechanism. best-in-slot returns up to five primary texts, five headlines and a description alongside the image, written from that image.
Can best-in-slot make video ads?
No. It generates still images only — one hero image re-rendered into the four Meta shapes — with no video, animation or avatar feature of any kind. Creatify does that job and does it well; the two tools are not substitutes on this axis.
How many videos does a Creatify plan actually get you?
Their published rate is 5 credits per 15 seconds of video in the platform (the API bills 5 per 30 seconds), so Starter's 100 credits are roughly ten 30-second videos a month before revisions — which cost 3 credits per 15 seconds unless you are on Pro and change nothing about the script, avatar or voice. Statics are much cheaper: the same ten free credits make “up to 2 video ads or 20 image ads”, though Creatify does not publish a per-image rate. Check the rates before you buy; they are published in their help centre and they change.
Which one works better for a SaaS or a service business?
Creatify's own supported-links article points at product listings — Amazon, Shopify, App Store — and its scrape is built for that shape of page. best-in-slot maps a whole website and writes one business summary from it, which is the right shape for a business whose argument is spread across several pages rather than sitting in a product listing.
Do best-in-slot's ads publish live?
They are created paused by default, inside an ad set you pick, with a link straight to the ad in Ads Manager. best-in-slot never creates campaigns or ad sets and never changes budgets or targeting.
